We Helped Build the Pipeline
In 1980, ADCO Electric joined several Jackson-area contractors in recognizing a growing need for skilled craft training in Mississippi. Together, using the Associated Builders and Contractors Wheels of Learning program, they established an apprenticeship program to develop their workforce from within — with Whit Adams and fellow company owners serving as instructors in those early years.
That initiative grew into the Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors Apprenticeship Program, and later evolved into the Mississippi Construction Education Foundation, which today provides craft training throughout Mississippi for adults, high school students, and junior college participants across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding, and carpentry.
ADCO remains deeply committed to this program. Its graduates form the backbone of our company, and many of our estimators, project managers, and designers are proud alumni who built on their craft foundation with additional training in engineering and management.
